We’re Ida and Cham, and we’re the ones behind Sri Lanka Vacay. A family-run travel company with our hearts and full focus on Sri Lanka – and we would love to share our love for the island with you.

Together with our two little boys (5 and 6 years old), we always enjoy traveling to Sri Lanka, where we have a villa that we designed and built with our own hands, and where our children grow up surrounded by palm trees, beaches, spicy food, and a culture where people of different religions, cultures, and backgrounds live side by side in respect and harmony.

I, Ida, have a long and personal connection to Sri Lanka. My mother is from Sri Lanka, and my father – a Swedish Viking – fell head over heels in love with both the country and my mother. As a child, I spent almost all of my school holidays on the island, which meant that Sri Lanka became an integral part of my life – with everything that entails. I’ve seen the country beyond the tourist paths, gotten to know everyday life and its people on a deep level – and for me, Sri Lanka is not just a destination, it’s a second home. As an adult, I kept returning again and again, and it was during one of these trips that I met Cham.

Cham was born and raised in Sri Lanka and has local knowledge few can match – a deep understanding of the island that goes far beyond guidebooks. He’s doing his very best to adapt to life in Sweden, learning Swedish and embracing our life here – while always carrying with him the warmth, humor, romance, and hospitality of Sri Lanka. Together, we combine his local expertise with my experience as a trained and certified travel consultant to create trips that feel genuine, carefully thought-out, and completely tailored to you.

We both care deeply about people. We want you to feel safe, well taken care of, and inspired throughout your journey. We strongly believe in the value of slowing down, embracing a different pace of life, and truly experiencing the place you visit. In Sri Lanka, “island time” is the norm – something we love to share with our guests, especially in a world and a Sweden that moves ever faster.

We do, however, have one requirement for traveling with us: when you arrive in Sri Lanka, please respect the people, the nature, and the culture.
